MYSC (Malaysian Society of Cinematographers) is a professional society representing and connecting cinematographers and the wider cinematography community in Malaysia. MYSC is committed to promoting the art and craft of cinematography, supporting professional development, encouraging knowledge sharing, and strengthening connections within the local and international film industry.

MYSC’s mission is to advance and promote the art and craft of cinematography in Malaysia. We aim to build a strong professional community, encourage knowledge and experience sharing, support education and professional development, and create meaningful connections between cinematographers, emerging talent, educational institutions and the wider film industry.

MYSC welcomes individuals at different stages of their cinematography journey. Membership categories include Accredited Members, Members, Associate Members and Student Members, each designed for individuals with different levels of professional experience, involvement or education in cinematography and related fields. Applicants are assessed according to the requirements of the relevant membership category.

An MYSC Academic Partnership connects educational institutions with Malaysia’s professional cinematography community. The partnership is offered free of charge and aims to create opportunities for students and educators to engage with MYSC members through knowledge sharing, industry talks, workshops, masterclasses and other suitable activities. The partnership is flexible, with collaborations developed according to mutual interest, availability and agreement between MYSC and the institution.

Becoming a MYSC member means being part of a professional community dedicated to cinematography. Members have opportunities to connect with fellow cinematographers and industry professionals, exchange knowledge and experience, participate in educational and industry activities, and discover opportunities for professional and creative development. MYSC also provides a platform to showcase members and celebrate their work and achievements.
